When we aren’t paying our swing instructors for lessons, paying for psychological counseling, or paying for personal training, we play these roles for ourselves. We are our own fitness trainers, shrinks, and swing pros. We have to be our own managers, providing all these vital services for ourselves, on top of our playing and practicing. To work on one’s game at the driving range, putting green, chipping area or on the golf course, and see improvement over time, is difficult. But having to also be aware enough to constantly study the statistical data to figure out where we need to improve, and analyzing it to come up with a way to fix it over time with a comprehensive plan, is just that much more demanding. We are not only the product but also the factory worker, the manufacturer, the administrative assistant, the salesman, the supervisor, and the boss. The difficulty of this situation is exposed in the great quote of the French surgeon, Alexis Carrel, “Man cannot remake himself without suffering, for he is both the marble and the sculptor.”

About the Author
This is Christy's second book to be published. The first one, titled 'A Lifetime of Contradictions', is the story through her own eyes of her 99 year old grandpa. She took us with her into his world, in that presentation, and now is sharing her own story of being raised and honed in golf. She covers all the highs and lows that accompanied the journey she had in competitive golf. She talks honestly about the outward manifestation of the trials, successes, tribulations, and achievements she had in golf. Once again she takes us on an adventure of a lifetime, this time through hers!
