Jesus wept over Jerusalem, because he knew what was going to happen to the city and to his people. I don’t want to put myself in Jesus’ shoes, nor give you any impression that I feel that I am above Jesus in any way. For a servant is never greater than his master.
“For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.” (Jn. 13: 15-17)
I hope that you don’t take this the wrong way. One day after work while sitting at a traffic light in a busy downtown area, I saw that a large crowd of people were crossing the street. Then the Lord revealed to me their pain. The pain was so great that I just started to weep uncontrollably. The reason why He had shown me their pain was that I asked Him this question. “Lord, I wonder how many are going to Hell?” Even if the pain that I felt were for just one person, I can’t imagine the pain that Jesus felt because of our sins. He carried, for the whole world, the cross. “I call all to repentance.” The choice is ours.
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (II Pe. 3: 9)
What the Lord was showing me is that if one person went to Hell, the pain would be unbearable for that person. We all have loved ones that could possibly go to Hell. The question is, “What are you doing to prevent this?”
“And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. And I will give him the morning star.” (Rev. 2: 26-28)
“And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.” (Rev. 19: 15)
“Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering. He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing. He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them. He holdeth back the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud upon it. He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.” (Job, 26: 6-10)
“Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men? A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise. He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding. The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.” (Pro. 15: 11-12 and 32-33)
Heavenly powers: “Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.” (I Pe. 3: 22)
“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly (religious) and the sinner appear?” (I Pe. 4: 17-18)
“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” (II Co. 4: 3-4)
This testimony is one of many in which the Lord has revealed himself to me. Late one Friday night after leaving my girlfriend’s house, I was walking home. It was in the fall and there were many leaves on the ground, I approached a curve in the road. As I was walking through the leaves, I heard another set of footsteps behind me. I stopped to see who was behind me, but there was no one to be seen. I continued to move on, then I heard the steps again. I stopped, but no one was there. So I moved on but altered my steps with his steps because I thought it may be an echo that I was hearing. When I clearly heard his steps and not my own I said, “Lord, is that you?” He replied “Yes, Michael.” I said, “Lord, I should be following you not you following me.” Then He said, “Michael I got your back, press on.” When I got around the curve, there were no more leaves on the ground, and I continued to walk home. I no longer heard his footsteps behind me but I felt his presence all the way home. About three months later, I read the poem, “Footsteps in the Sand,” for the very first time. Then I asked the Lord, “Why didn’t you carry me?” He answered, “Michael you didn’t need to be carried.” So I asked Him, “Why were you behind me?” He said, “Michael, as you may recall, when we were going around the curve, there was a car coming around as well, and in that car was a drunk driver. If I hadn’t been there, he wound have hit you.”
This could be your last invitation. I pray that you will make the right decision! We have all of this life to get it right. What you do today will have an effect for eternity. May Jesus Christ be with you always. A-men!
