About the Book

A Policeman on a bicycle rounding up straying horses; the imagined outcome of a match between a Celestial cricket team and one from the 'other side': treatment at the hands of 'Miss Whiplash', a firm and efficient Physiotherapist; the plight of all hen-pecked husbands on Judgement Day; marriage and mothers-in-law; and the love of a father for a "drop dead gorgeous" 2 year old daughter.

All these, and other themes, some factual, others imagined; solemn, serious or downright flippant, a view on all aspects of life looked at with a wry sense of humour, these poems will tickle the taste buds of those addicted to humourous poetry

About the Author

During the 1950s, at Her Majesty's request, the Author briefly spent time in the Royal Air Force, but finding himself unable to settle back down in 'Civvy Street,' joined the Metropolitan Police, serving at such far flung, exotic outposts of the Metropolitan Police District as Holloway, Highbury Vale, Willesden Green and Wembley.

His experiences during 32 years service have given him an insight into all aspects of life - pleasant, gruesome, 'gut-wrenching,' heart-warming, hilarious - some of which are reflected in the pages of this book.

He now lives in Wembley with Janet, his wife of over 40 years, and reckons he's long overdue for Parole! He has three daughters, six grandchildren, two 'tin hips' and one 'tin knee.' Sadly, their son passed away eleven years ago.
