About the Author

Bestselling and award-winning author, international motivational speaker, and professional historian, Emma Samuel Etuk is the President of Emida International Publishers.  A graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C., he obtained a Ph.D. in United States History, with minors in African History and International Relations.

 

Formerly a civil servant, Etuk attended the Polytechnic, Calabar, in Nigeria, where he received a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Estate Management.  He also received a B.A. degree in Business Administration from Malone College, Canton, Ohio; an M.A. in Church History from Ashland Theological Seminary; and did graduate work at the Institute of Church and State at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.  At seminary, Etuk studied under Drs. David A. Rausch, Douglas Chismar, and Jerry R. Flora. 

 

Etuk has taught history and other graduate courses at Howard, Dillard, and Morgan State universities as well as at Bethune-Cookman College (now University).  He has lectured in The Gambia, Nigeria and the United States.  He has written and published eleven books and several articles and essays which have been widely read.  Two of his latest books are re-published abroad and are circulating in over eight countries, including India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and USA. 

 

Etuk is the recipient of many awards, including the 2005 Irwin Award for the Best International Campaign; the LABBE Award (2005) in recognition of his book, Recipe For Success; and the 2005 Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria (USA) Leadership Award in recognition of his exemplary leadership in the community.  In 1999, Etuk and his family were honored at the U. S. Congress as “Parents of the Year” for the state of Maryland.   

 

Etuk has been heard on more than 600 radio-talk shows in the USA and seen on many TV programs in Nigeria, The Gambia, and USA.  He had been a member of the National Speakers Association (NSA); the Association of American Publishers (AAP); the Small Publishers Association of North America SPAN); and the African Studies Association (ASA).  He has two manuscripts awaiting publication.
