The Shaman Wars

“Son, the Dark Dwellers, what have they promised you.” Marcues asked. Titus leant forward. “Nothing!” He whispered thrusting his sword into his fathers gut. “And they are Dark Dwellers no more, they are my Elder Lords.” The blade sparked as it passed through the old mans body, Marcues coughed up some blood and he grasped his sons shoulder. A tear rolled down Titus’s cheek as he whispered what would be his last words to his father. “You betrayed me father. You did this.” Marcues slid down his son sprawling in a heap on the floor; he turned away from the other Shaman who were stood in complete shock. The Elder Lords hunched staring at the oozing body of Marcues who was still twitching as his body slowly shut down. Carmen rolled over and slowly began to raise herself to her feet; a black mark was engulfing her neck and shoulders. Titus spun on the spot and waved his sword, lightening flew from the end and struck Carmen, she yelped as it hit her, her body flew across the room slamming into the wall. Kantessa stood up swiftly and waved her hand across the room. The Elder Lords were sent crashing against the walls, the Shaman took up their sceptres and shot curse after curse at the approaching Werebeasts, Titus joined the battle firing numerous curses towards Kantessa, who was more than equal. A Werewolf flew through the air knocking Kantessa off balance. One of Titus’s curses struck one of her Gauntlets causing the curse to rebound back towards himself, she squealed in pain at the force the curse had struck her and watched as Arnole sent a curse back towards Titus. He blocked it but the force of the curse knocked him over and knocked his sword skimming along the floor. By the time he had retrieved it, the Shaman had fought their way to safety although pursued by a handful of Elder Lords. The Pursuing Elder Lords returned and knelt awkwardly before Brícx. “Theys have escaped us my Lord.” Brícx reported to Titus. Titus wiped his forehead with both of his hands, scratching his face as he lowered his hands. Blood dribbled down his chin as he looked down at the body of his father. “Take him to the ascension stone.” Titus ordered. “I will need his memories.” He said turning and looking out through the damaged doors of the palace. “I will take this fortress as my own.” He said through gritted teeth. “Make sure that the grounds are protected, my father’s stooges will no doubt return.” Titus watched the Elder Lord leave the Palace and the door closed slowly behind him. The days of the Dark Shaman had begun.
