In the middle of the night, while the horses and other creatures in the stable were deeply asleep, Estrela woke up with a very strange feeling.
“Ah,” Said Estrella. “It is as I thought. My deep weariness and my big appetite were not caused just by my long journey, but because I have been sleeping and eating for two! For me and my new child! And like her mother, and her mother’s mother, and her mother’s mother’s mother, Estrella gave birth to her first little baby.
Just at that moment, the workers heard a very peculiar sound….something they have never heard in the stable before….”Eee Auu. Eee Auu.”
“It’s a braying!” said the workers in wonderment. “How is that possible?”
Jedediah the mule had arrived and the stable of Buttercup Farm would never be the same!

–¡Ah!– pensó Estrella. –Me lo imaginaba….estaba muy cansada y muy hambrienta no solamente por mi viaje sino que también estaba durmiendo y comiendo por dos…¡Yo y mi bebe!– Y
En este mismo momento, los trabajadores estaban escuchando un sonido muy peculiar…Era algo que jamás habían oído en el establo. “Eee Auu. Eee Auu.” ¡Era en sonido de la mula! Un alborto junto con un ruido extraño y fuerte.

Jedediah había llegado y, desde entonces, ¡el establo de Buttercup Farm nunca fue el mismo!

Érase una vez, en un pueblo muy lujoso y en un establo muy elegante, llegó una yegua muy linda de color dorado. Tras la llegada y durante la primera noche, la yegua dio a luz a un bambino hermoso pero ese bambino no era un potro, sino… ¡un mulito adorable, inteligente y lleno de picardía!

“The Adventures of Jedediah,” originally written in Spanish, was inspired by a baby mule she met at a local stable. The first time she “bumped into” Jedediah, he was standing quietly outside his corral, waiting for someone to notice and play with him. Alita found out that Jedediah had been born unexpectedly in the midst of a busy stable. What a lot of playful chaos he created! Alita came to love this mischievous mule and wanted to share his story.
Alita hopes that Jedediah’s heart-warming and courageous tale will show that being different isn’t really such a bad thing. In fact it can make you very, very special!
