Just then he saw two flashes to his right. He felt the heat on his face; was he shot? He went down to take cover by his driver's side front tire. Shive felt around his face with his left hand, and he felt glass. Someone must have shot the front window out. Shive stuck his gun above the hood and cut loose with a few rounds; he wanted to keep this guy off him. He heard what he thought were about three rounds and could hear the metal dinging; he heard the hissing of the radiator losing fluid. Shive retreated to the back of his car, and staying behind the trunk, went over to the passenger side; he then heard the van taking off. As he watched the van drive away, He thought, "What the hell happened?' It was so fast, but everything seemed like slow motion. Shive was sweating and breathing like he had just finished running five miles. The adrenaline was kicking in, and he was starting to shake.

About the Book
On the St.Joe River, Deputy Henry, training his new recruit, encounters three White Supremacists. After his encounter, Henry – along with his new friend Coker, an ex-Marine who is freshly back from Iraq – has to track down the Supremacists. Their chase takes them through North Idaho and the wilds of western Montana. Coker and Henry face other challenges along the way, from staying on the chase to deciding what to do if they find the Supremacists. Henry has to decide what side of the law he falls on. Will the dreams of her return after his ordeal?
About the Author
Dean was born and raised in Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Penn State. He currently lives in Post Falls, Idaho, with his two sons Jake and Ethan. An avid outdoorsman, Dean has been a police officer for twenty seven years. He currently works as a Lieutenant for the Coeur d' Alene Tribal Police. Dean started his career as a Military Policeman in the U.S. Air Force. During his career, he has taught Arrest Techniques, Taser and D.A.R.E. He has been a K-9 handler and also has been on Tactical and a Dive Teams.
