“Yes Eva, I have to leave and you know that,” Ondo replied. Eva let go of his hands and as Ondo stood up, she held his hand again, looking straight into his eyes and hoping that he would just choose to stay instead. But Ondo had made up his mind and only felt that he had to leave. The truth is he could not continue to watch them part ways and accept that there was nothing they could do about it. So, he left and by the time he reached the door, someone was coming in. It was Anna, returning from the library. She and Ondo faced each other, and Anna figured that he was not alright, even if she had an idea of what was the matter, as Ondo walked out and barely said hi to her. She walked toward Eva who sadly but calmly sat at her bed as Ondo left. “It’s all over now Anna,” she said as Anna sat at her side. “It is all over.”
