''There it is.'' Mary said as I began to walk around the table. As I picked up the dagger I couldn't help but to look at it in amazement. It was so beautiful. The blade shined as the sun began to reflect off of it. It was as shiney as a crystal. The handle looked as if it was made out of white marble.
As the sun hit the marble on the dagger it shined like it was filled with tiny little crystals. On the center of the handle was a green emerald. It was the most beautiful weapon that I had ever seen. For a double edged knife anyway.
''So this is the dagger of Zan.'' I said as I stood there by the table holding the dagger in my hand. ''Yep, and now that we have it we need to get back to the others.'' Mary replied. ''Yeah. Lets go.'' I said as I turned around and walked toward the doors.
''Is it just me or was this way too easy?'' Mary asked as we walked down the hall. ''It was too easy.'' I replied as we walked out of the temple. ''I wonder if there was a catch to it.'' Mary said. As we walked back toward the direction of the dessert I thought about Mary's words.
They made alot of since. There had to be a catch. This was way too easy. However, the temple was guarded by humans. Maybe it was nothing. Maybe we shouldn't be worried at all. ''The temple was guarded by humans so maybe this was just too easy.'' I said as we kept walking.
''Your probably right.'' Mary replied. ''We need to move quickly. The others should be at the dessert by now. Olivia won't hesitate to try and kill them once she has them in Eric and Melina's grasp.'' Mary added.
''I agree. Lets run like the wind.'' In that moment Mary and I began to run through the woods. We flew passed the trees like a hurricane. There was no time to lose. We had to get to the others fast. All of thier lives depended upon us.
Mary and I ran through the woods until the sun went down. It was at that moment when we heard a noise in the woods. It sounded like a hissing noise. It wasn't an animal or a human. It wasn't even another vampire. Whatever it was it smelled fowl. ''What is that noise?'' I asked.
''I don't know, but I don't like it.'' Mary said as she looked around the woods. ''I'm starting to feel like we shouldn't have taken that dagger.'' Mary added. Mary and I kept looking around the woods. We didn't see anything out of the ordinary.
In that moment we heard the hissing noise once again. ''There it is again.'' I said as I kept looking around the woods. ''Yeah. I have a feeling that we're about to find out what it is. The noise is coming from the trees.'' Mary said as she glanced up at the trees.
As I looked up I could see something moving through the trees, but I couldn't figure out what it was. It was moving so fast that my eyes couldn't even catch a glimpse of what it was. Not even a human could see it. ''Elizabeth, keep that dagger out. Your going to need it.'' Mary said. ''Come out, come out, wherever you are!'' Mary yelled.
After a moment I heard the hissing noise again. As I looked up at the trees I saw the fowl smelling creature drop to the ground. As it rose up I began to see what it was. The creature had a tongue like a slithering serpant and eyes as red as human blood.
It had sparkling white fangs about two inches long. The creature's whole body was black as night and looked to be about thirty feet long. It was a snake obviously. I knew that Mary and I were about to be in some serious trouble as the creature kept looking us over with its eyes.
The snake had the look of a predator in its eyes. It kind of reminded me of the look in a vampire's eyes before they made thier kill. It was a look that I was familiar with. The look of a blood thirsty tyrant before coming in for the kill.
Now I knew what it was like to be the prey. ''Get that dagger ready.'' Mary whispered. ''Don't worry. I've got it ready to go.'' I replied. ''Who are you creature and what do you want?'' I asked. The creature stayed silent and looked at me as if it was amazed by something.
''I don't think it's in the mood to talk.'' Mary said as she kept looking at the creature. ''Well it's here for some reason.'' I replied. ''I'm guessing its because of the dagger.'' I added with a smile on my face. In that moment the creature hissed as if it was angry.
''Yep. I think that's it.'' I said as I smiled once again. ''I told you this was too easy!'' Mary yelled. ''Nothing is ever easy for a vampire Mary. We're always in some kind of trouble at some point or another.
The creature began to move toward us. I was ready for a fight. I could sense that the creature had come for me. It may have been some sort of protector for the dagger but that didn't matter to me. I needed this dagger in order to save my friends. There was no way that I was about to give up this dagger without a fight.
In the moment of that thought the creature began to open its mouth to speak. I wondered what the creature was about to say. My luck it would probably say that it was the protector of the dagger and that we were going to die for stealing it.
