Airanea threw a kama at Aufero's jewel but the guardian angel was too fast and caught it before it became a threat. "Let her go you son of bitch." Airanea shrieked with anger. As she landed just out of his attack range and ran at a medium pace towards him. Aufero tossed the kama to the ground and said, "You want her come and take her." Shaken by Aufero's challenge Airanea took a different approach. She turned her run into a slow and easy walk. She pulled her emotions together and softly spoke, "I'm sorry Aufero I lost my head for a moment, you know how it gets out here. What I meant to say is let me take my sister to our portal and we will leave peacefully." "Nice turn Airanea but how about we make a trade instead." "I know what you want handsome but I can't give it to you, no matter what you offer." "Well then I'm afraid your sister here is going to have a rough road ahead of her and you and I will have to settle this one on one. You know you can't take me mentally and your reinforcements are long gone. Do you really think you are good enough with that kama to take me?" "I didn't want it to come to this Aufero, I was hoping we could be an example for our people. You know the type that didn't have to fight it out but could come to a reasonable solution through intelligent conversation." "I'll give you this Airanea you are intelligent but you are also desperate look at all the tricks you are trying to pull. You are just as clever as they say you are but it's your reputation that had me prepared for you."
The two adversaries began working themselves in a slow circle. Neither gaining on the other but each slowing to adjust to the others position. "You have me at a standstill Aufero, I can't possibly haul Novo out of here without you giving me a free pass and I can't go back to Hell and leave her to die." "Your right about one thing Airanea, you can't go." "Oh, so now you think yourself faster than I am? You look a little heavy to me darling." Suddenly the claws were snapping within inches of Airanea's face, she quickly raised her kama to block but they weren't sent to attack, they were a warning." "As you can see I don't need to be fast, my friends here are quite capable of making sure you don't leave until I'm ready for you to leave. Now tell me where Aphasia is." "If I tell you where she is will you let Novo and I go?" "Let me rephrase, I should have worded my demands more carefully. I know where she is that's a no brainer. Tell me how to get Aphasia back and I will let you and Novo leave unharmed. That's a pretty good deal considering the bounty on your head is considerable. There isn't an angel in Heaven who wouldn't risk their life to get a shot at you." "You don't want that either Aufero, you want me to get her back for you and while I'm flattered that you think I could do that, I can't. You know I can't make that kind of deal, Lucifer is the only one that makes deals like that, however..." Airanea had an amazingly devious grin creep across her face and Aufero knew that whatever she had come up with wasn't going to be in his favor.
"I can take you to her," the demoness continued. "Yeah I bet you would; are you serious? I would have to be mad to believe you." "I promise no harm will come to you on your way in and I'll take you right to where she is being held." "So you mean to tell me that you'll take me right to her but it's up to me to fight my way out of Hell? You are out of this world crazy." "I think it's a fair offer, better than any Lucifer would give you, I get you in you get yourself and her out. I really don't feel like expending the energy it would take to kill you." "Let me ask you one more question how much do you mean to Lucifer? He would probably do almost anything to get a seducer of your talents back wouldn't he?" "Pity." the demoness replied.
Suddenly Airanea lashed out at Aufero closing the gap between them remarkably fast. He called for the axe and it snapped to his hands just in time to absorb the first blow. She thrashed wildly with her kama keeping Aufero on the defensive. He could tell by the power of her attack and the speed with which they continued to come she was expertly conditioned. Airanea called for her other kama and it flew from the ground to her free hand. She swiped quickly and hooked Aufero's left leg and tripped him. He fell hard against the ground and he became aware that the weight of the axe wasn't going to allow him to get up. He pushed the axe as hard as he could into the air assisted by the chains and blocked the kamas as they were both angled to hit his jewel. He had the claws keep the axe up and in the way while he climbed to his feet but Airanea ducked under and came after him. He punched the inside of Airanea's left forearm and she dropped the kama in that hand. Aufero snatched it before it fell to the ground and was now using it as his own. The chains put the axe back to its resting place while Aufero fought on.
