Downing found the main storage trailer chained but it was unlocked. He removed the chain and climbed inside as he swung the door open. Before Downing could begin his search, Capitan Louis, came up behind him with his weapon drawn.” Stop right there Downing," Ordered Louis. "Capitan, I’m busy," said Downing, in a mocking voice."Get on down out of there Jason, I mean it" Capitan Louis ordered again "I’m bringing this to an end. Here and now." "Come on Carl, you’re not going to shoot me." Downing said, as he turned and looked down on the Capitan. "Have you forgotten Carl? You would be dead if it wasn’t for me, and you know it?" He said. "I haven’t forgotten Jason. Just get down out of there, please." "What ever you say Carl," said Downing, pretending to cooperate with the young officer as he climbed down out of the truck with the chain still in hand. Downing stopped once he was on the ground. "What now Carl," He asked. Capitan Louis answered by pointing his gun back toward the church "Let’s go," he said. As Downing walked past Capitan Louis, he caught him off guard and swung the chain, striking him across the face. After overpowering the officer, Downing took the gun from his hand and held it to his head. "You sure went to a lot of trouble just to die here today Carl." "Don’t do it Downing," said the officer, holding his hand to a bleeding wound on the side of his head, "Don’t you understand, something is happening to you. Stop before it’s too late." "Sure, I understand Captain; I just don’t give a damn," he said, as he pulled the trigger. Captain Louis was killed instantly. Downing then dragged Louis’s body behind the supply trailer, and stuffed it into a large steel drum. "There you go Captain, that should keep you quiet," Downing said, while putting the lid on the barrel. "Now where was I?" He asked himself, as he climbed back up into the trailer.

About the Author
In 1948 Larry was born into a small West Virginia coal mining town. He was the third boy in a family with eight other siblings yet to arrive. Times were tough and with so many mouths to feed, the coal camps offered little hope for the future so the family moved north to Michigan where jobs were plentiful in the booming auto industry. To further his education, Larry studied drafting at a Detroit area College, and later enrolled into a specialized Arts and graphics School. There he spent three years further honing his skills in the fine arts. He shares his love for painting with a deep affection for music and likes to sing and plays the guitar and the harmonica. Larry’s always considered himself a story teller and has written many songs and several ballads using this skill. In the summer of 2008 his brother suggested that he put this talent to good use and write a novel. Astaroth Demon Rising is the result of that suggestion and Larry is now working on his third novel.
