The Catfish Hunters has taken the knowledge of two very seasoned Catfishermen, and blended more than 125 years of combined fishing experience into this textbook on Catfishing. Jake Bussolini has partnered with Mac Byrum, a popular professional Catfish guide and tournament competitor, for the research and creation of this book. For two years they traveled through the eastern United States collecting background material for this book, to determine the different techniques being used to catch the three main species of eastern catfish. The firsh half of the book presents instructional material to assist fishermen and women, on techniques for increasing their catch rates for these monster fish. Again in this book Bussolini introduces the science of Catfishing along with the sport elements. The book discussed different fishing techniques beginning with the bait selection and processing, moving through different equipment and boat configurations, including details as small as the proper hooks and rigs to be used. The second half of the book records their many escursions to different lakes and rivers, starting with the James River in Virginia, to the Altamaha River in Georgia, many lakes in the Carolinas, ending with the Red River of the North in North Dakota. Beginners and experienced fishermen must read this book.

About the Author
Jakes books all deal with the sublect of freshwater fishing. he has been a freshwater fisherman for more than 65 years, starting with his early trout fishing experiences at the age of 6 years. His scientific training during his education as an Engineer has made him look at the sport of freshwater fishing from a unique angle of the science behind the sport, rather than simply participating in the sport itself. this unique combination has permitted this author to develop several unique and controversial theories about fishing strategies. Mac Byrum joined Jake in the writing of this book, because he has a national reputation as an experienced Catfish guide on Lake Norman North carolina. Mac has competed professionally in many tournaments in the south, ranking as high as the top ten in one national tournament. Mac is a regular contributer to several internet fishing sites and is considered the Dean of the Mac Byrum Catfish University, where he regularly shares his experiences with other fishermen. At 75 years of age, Jake Bussolini decided that he needed sme younger opinions in this book, so he invited Mac Byrum, who was only 72 years of age when the patnership started. The two authors have effectively, and sometimes humorously shared their experiences in this book.
