Her form so linear, firm, sleek, and refined Oh that caring girl with joyful personality so kind Her movement so feline, royal and composed Has transfixed this boy reopening a mind so closed. A verse from 'This Rare Pearl' Years have passed since first spying this gentle spot, a privilege having lived so long in such a heavenly plot. I oft times try to visualise how life here used to be when horses ruled the tracks and lanes no cars one could foresee. About the Book
A contemplative arrangement of poems that genuinely reflect and reveal both profound and superficial love encounters. An attempt to express acutely held views regarding the special significance the natural world plays in the lives of us all with its ever changing cycles. The ability and importance to laugh at ourselves and to look and find humour in the most desolate and abandoned of circumstances. A bid to convey the true value of faith and its prominence, whether realised or not, in everyday life and how we as a species reap what we sow and are ultimately responsible for our individual actions on life's path of exploration and enlightenment.
About the Author
My name is Michael William Worley, I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager. I decided this year to publish a book of poems having discovered inspiration I'd thought previously lost. The reason for my new found inspiration was the fact that in the early part of 2010 I was diagnosed with a malignant tumour. Suddenly finding my life put on hold and staring into an unknown future I began writing again about various aspects of my past, memories of my childhood, growing up as a teenager and attempting to explain feelings both deep and lighthearted. Delving deep into my subconscious I have been able to view this rich tapestry we call life from various angles allowing me access to a world of dream, desire and passion fused with the natural beauty surrounding us. Walking, sometimes running through the labyrinth of love my poems attempt to portray the contrast of emotions between the emptiness and fullness of life , human strength and frailty, the importance of friendship, the unique pleasure of sensual touch and the richness of the human spirit. I live in Chapel Brampton, a beautiful village in the Northamptonshire countryside, an area rich in history and up until now relatively unspoilt by man. I am so very grateful to have been raised in this scenic part of Northamptonshire and to have experienced the enjoyment of village life with all its eccentricities and idiosyncrasies. I'm extremely fortunate to have been blessed in my life with wonderful parents and am still able to enjoy the love and friendship of my mother and a truly great set of friends who have given me their time, support and humour and have been there for me during the dark days. This book of poetry has become a journey of self exploration and adventure combined with a hope that readers may enjoy its simplicity and honesty.
