About the Book

Retired heavy-weight boxer, Nyza Stevenson had never lost a fight until he met the pretty Nichelle Tammerine Phillips, better known to the world as: Tammerine Loc Phillips, the undisputed female boxing champion. Of course she had never lost a fight either. Both boxers were pretty stubborn by right. Tracey, Nyza’s life-long friend and former trainer had a secret affair with Arvette, Nyza’s older sister. But there was one problem. Zay had one rule and one specific rule only; His friends were not allowed to date his sister. Tracey wasn’t even allowed, even though Tracey, Zay and Arvette grew up together. No one was good enough for his sister, not even his best friend. Tracey and Arvette were in love and they continued their escapades against Nyza’s wishes. They both had fun but the relationship was later terminated because of the Nyza’s disapproval – not to mention Arvette became pregnant by another man. Tracey gets over Arvette and decides to move on with his life. Three years later, Tracey gets married to a woman that he doesn’t love and Vette returns to the D.C. area to visit her older brother and pay her dues. She has a secret that she has been keeping from everyone but at the same time Tracey learns that his new bride had sex with his best friend, (Nyza.) Tammerine, Zay’s new girlfriend finds out and is furious. She is ready to walk away from the relationship and everything that she invested in when Zay comes to find that his new love interest (Tammerine) has been hiding a few secrets of her own. Everything comes out right in the middle of Nyza’s living room and it becomes a straight knock down- drag out when everything comes to light in this cool, yet sexy novel. But the male and the female boxers have issues to hash out within their own relationship. It turns into an all out fight scheduled for 12 rounds, but the boxers’ glove up for the thirteenth round... Sometimes relationships go into overtime. Sexy and softly erotic; it is a must read! “Anything is possible when you read a story by Devon.” “Devon’s books are page turners. You will not be disappointed!” “A writer ahead of his time; I couldn’t put it down!”

About the Author

I am a Washington DC native with 10 years experience as a writer, whereas 5 of those years have been spent professionally. I have been writing for the Rock E-News magazine () Some of those published works include articles about Entrepreneurship like; Don’t Quit Your Day Job; Taking a Risk; and Dime Piece. Within the same five years I have had two books published; Fire and Rain and Nappy is Good under my name. Nappy is Good, published in May 2005 kicked off my professional start as an author. The latest published work; Fire and Rain was published Oct. 2006. With an experienced publicist with creative ideas I was able to make many aware of my work. I took some time off from writing so that I could market my work the way it should have been. When I wasn’t marketing I spent time in churches talking to the young people in the community. When I wasn’t in the church I was in the schools talking to some more of our young people, exposing them to some new stuff. Not enough of our young people realize the career opportunities in writing. I made as many aware as I could. I love what I do. I love what I do more than my usual occupation. Being a 12 year U.S. Army Veteran, I was afforded the opportunity to make a difference - the kind of difference that would continue to multiply. It is all about giving, FAM. You never go wrong by giving and you will always get what you give. I took a little bit of a break but since then I have written about five almost six novels neatly fitting the genres of romance, suspense, street crime and erotica. I mean, I have been real busy. I met Michael Baisden a few years ago in Dallas and he told me to find my passion if I hadn’t already. He then told me to make sure that I purchased a digital recorder and be sure to capture everything. I do that. I haven’t lived in the City of Washington for a long time but I have roots there and there are so many stories to tell and I am the right person to tell them. All of my stories talk about the life, struggles and times of the District. I use my experiences from my travels to enhance the plot points and story lines but you can be sure that Washington D.C. is tied in there somewhere. That is my trade mark, baby. I use that recorder that Baisden spoke of to record the highlights and memories of the city and I bring them to life. I got some romance for yo ass, and I got some gangster shit among the suspenseful “Who done its.” So check me out. I am currently seeking traditional publishing. My work is not by any means average and I don’t plan to stop with writing books, my work has that screen play appeal. Whoever you may be, feel free to inquire. I am free for signings, public talks, interviews and appearances. Let’s do some business together. To my fans, thank you for the continued support, but like I promised you before, I will not stop and I have a lot in store. Help me to keep it going.
