The Dance of Life And you by chance did touch my world Your smile, your charm, your passion Your sense of understanding others needs Your etiquette of an old time fashion We dance the dance of life From day to day Revealing hidden moments Of the joy in living The gift of love when all is said and done Is the joy of the gift in giving We feel the love But dare not linger We feel the pain, the joy, the strife Still in a world Of such awesome passion We dance the dance of life

About the Book
My Life is my canvas… It is a colorful mix of art, style and expression. It is a Celebration of experiences and emotions and each is only one part of the journey in my Celebration of Life. Through the years... I have balanced my work and my family. I've chased my dreams and dealt with the realities of life. And all of it has been captured in my Poetry. What makes me happy.... palm trees and sea shells... sandy beaches and sunsets against pastel colored skies… stars fading into the morning sky... seagulls flying above the waves painted orange by the morning sun. And In celebration of life… A Moment of LOVE, A Moment of JOY, A Moment of PAIN.
About the Author
On the way to becoming a published writer, Yvonne took a detour and gained a unique view of the world. She traveled through Europe and for several years, lived and worked in Frankfurt, Germany. After returning to the United States, she earned a BS Degree in Mathematics and a Masters in Public Administration, both from Savannah State University. She attended the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center/FAA Academy in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and worked as an Air Traffic Control Specialist for more than 28 years. Her path through life only added to her imagination. Her creativeness provided a refuge when the everyday details of living crowded the spaces around her. Her poetry, essays, stories, interior and fashion designs allowed her to tap into her creative side. She has written hundreds of poems and short stories and along the way has won several poetry awards. Yvonne was the guest poet at the 2009 Black and White Inaugural Gala in Savannah, Georgia. She wrote and presented the poem, “We Celebrate”. An imagination is a wonderful thing to have and to share and she shared it with her sons as they were growing up. Her children’s books are fascinating and fun to read. Her creativeness is imaginative and entertaining and her poetry reflects many of her life experiences.
