The train was slowing again. As it stopped, the door slid open. The three faces in the door needed shaves and looked nearly as bad as they smelled. The bottom line in any argument filled my hand as if it had a life of its own. The three fugitives from soap and water decided that this car was too crowded. They must have seen the hollow points in the exposed part of the cylinder and realized that this was no bluff.

About the Book
"Derrick Johnson, a Vietnam veteran and carpenter has fallen on hard times. He moves, or I should say, "flees" back to the Houston area where he hopes to find work in his field. His rented home at the dead end of a dirt road turns out to to be at the center of some very grisly goings on. The untended cemetery next door are his only neighbors. Gradually, Derrick works his way into the good graces of local police to help clean up some unsolved crimes that had been plagueing local authorities for too long. The search for guilty parties leads authorities to some unlikely suspects as Derrick's role becomes more involved. Nothing is beneath the perpetrators' diabolical behavior. This thriller will remind you why lock your doors at night."
About the Author
I've lived a full life, if a little rough. Traveling around the country, I seem to attract the characters that smarter men would shun. They are people too. When I look in their eyes, I see a little bit of myself, or at least the person I used to be.
I've lived in many places in America. I've thrown out the Anchor this time in Dover, Tennessee where I live with my wonderful wife of five years, Mikki. I have two natural children, four step children, and a collective fifteen grandchildren as of February, 2011.
My life is ruled by Christ now, but I haven't forgotten when I more closely resembled the characters I write about.
I'm a proud Vietnam Veteran. I served as a Pointman in the Infantry for First Platoon, Bravo Company, of the 1st 327th Infantry of the 101st Airborne. My Vietnam service was from November of 1969 to November of 1970. That part of my life is covered in my earlier book, Toll of War/Vietnam.
The most important thing I do in life is not writing books. It is guiding my children and grandchildren on a Christian path.
