Izzy and Bill could feel it as they stepped into the house, something wasn’t right. The air was thick and heavy, and danger was all around them. Bill could feel it but unlike Izzy, he didn’t break out into a cold sweat. He moved deeper into the house leaving her right where she stood. Her feet were frozen to the floor, her eyes scanned the room, then she saw it hanging from the ceiling and it was a body. She tried to run or scream but she could only stand there, frozen to her spot, staring at the body nailed to the ceiling.
From around the corner came the sound of scraping finger nails and heavy breathing. As the sound got closer and closer her heart was pounding. She knew this was the end of her life when Bill jumped out and yelled, “Boo! The spirit of this house has killed you!”
“Stop that, Bill! You could have given me a heart attack!” screamed Izzy as her heart stopped pounding.
Ty ran into the house and said, “What’s going on in here?”
“Bill thought he was being funny by jumping out at me. I thought I saw someone nailed to the ceiling right above me. I became frightened, then he jumped out yelling and I freaked out. Could you please look up there and tell me what you see, Ty?” asked Izzy shaking.
Ty looked up and said, “Izzy, look up there and tell me what you see.”
She looked up there again and said, “I know what I saw Ty, and I saw a person up there. What happened to him?”
“I think you’re just seeing things, we should leave and have this party some where else. I want to stay here but I don’t want you to be uncomfortable,” said Bill as he started walking out the front door.
“Bill’s right you know, let’s go somewhere else and have this party,” said Ty as he walked toward the door also.
“Where can we go? Why don’t we just stay here? I’m fine, let’s check out the house and have some fun,” said Izzy as she grabbed Ty’s hand and walked deeper into the house.
Bill walked out onto the front porch and called to everyone, “The party’s going on for anyone who’s interested. I’m going back in the house and have some fun.”
Everyone started walking into the house behind Bill except for Jacob, Brittany, Barry and Carol. As they turned and started walking away, Barry saw something in the attic window; it was a person being strangled. “I need return and warn them about what I just saw!” said Barry turning back towards the house.
“Are you kidding me! That was probably just Bill trying to scare you into going into that place! Let’s just leave them to their fun and we’ll find our own some place else,” said Jacob as he turned to leave.
“You go without me then, I’m going to warn my friends about what I just saw. I’ll see you later,” said Barry as he ran towards the house.
“Barry, wait a minute and we’ll go with you,” said Jacob as he and the girls ran after him.
As soon as they entered the house the door slammed behind them. Brittany tried to open the door but it was locked. Just then the lights stopped shining, and they were in total darkness. “Is everyone still here?”
“I haven’t moved since I stepped foot inside this house. Maybe Uncle Tom’s trying to finish the job he started all those years ago.”
“The wind blew the door shut and now it’s jammed. As for the lights, Bill or one of the others is just trying to scare us. I think I found a candle on the table over here and I’ve got some matches in my pocket.” Carol took out the matches and lit the candle. “Over there is the light switch, let’s turn it on and find the rest of our friends.”
They walked toward the light switch and Barry heard a strange sound. Just then Jacob slipped and fell on his back. Barry ran over to help his best friend up, and then he turned on the light. There, on the floor, was blood, and it covered the back of Jacob’s shirt and pants. They all looked up on the ceiling and saw a dead man nailed there with his throat cut wide open.
Barry, Jacob and the girls ran up the stairs as fast as they could. They weren’t watching where they were running to and ran right into the rest of the gang. “I thought you said you wouldn’t come in here because it was haunted!” teased Bill.
“Are you all right? You don’t look so good,” said Tay worriedly.
“Believe me; we’re not doing well at all! We’ve returned to warn you to leave because we saw a murder in the attic! When we entered the house the door slammed and locked! Then the lights went out! We finally found the switch and Jake fell! After we turned on the light again we saw a big pool of blood on the floor! We looked up and saw a man nailed to the ceiling with his throat cut!” exclaimed Barry in a frightened voice.
“You probably only thought you saw that, it’s all in your head! Let’s go and have some fun,” said Keith sarcastically.
“Does this look like it’s all in my head?” asked Jake as he turned around.
“His back’s full of blood,” exclaimed Angel as she touched his back, “fresh, wet blood!”
“Izzy said she saw someone nailed to the ceiling too,” said Bill as he stared at Jake’s back.
“Maybe we should walk downstairs to see the body that’s nailed to the ceiling,” said Thomas as he started walking down the stairs.
Everyone else followed him to the entrance hall, looked up at the ceiling and there was a person hanging there. Bill looked at the floor where the blood was dripping, and words started to form in the blood. No one was writing them but they were there.
