“Wassup blood, you ready?” I asked my nigga D as I passed him tha grapes.
“Let’s get this money,” he said as he hit tha blunt and tucked his pistol.
We got out the car and walked over to an abandoned warehouse on 85th Ave. They was already there: our connect Antonio and some random ass nigga.
“Ay where Carlos, who dis nigga?” I demanded. “You know we don’t bring in nobody else to this.”
“Relax,” Antonio said all calm and shit. “No need to go there blood, Carlos couldn’t make it, this my cousin Rico.”
“Whateva mufucka, you a cop?” D asked straight up.
“Of course not man he’s good, you know me.” Antonio explained.
“Exactly, but I don’t know this nigga,” D said. “Lift up yo shirt, you betta not be wearin a wire or it’s a wrap fa yo ass.”
“I ain’t liftin up shit, Antonio what the fuck?” Rico asked. “I didn’t come here fo this shit, you got the fuckin money or what?”
“We ain’t talkin bout shit, til you lift up yo fuckin shirt, you think I’m stupid or somethin?” I shouted. “You got me hella fucked up. Unless you
want this shit to get real fuckin ugly, you betta do it.”
Me and D pulled out our guns and cocked em, but so did they.
“What’s it gon be?’ D asked.

About the Author
Trina Renee', a young African American woman from Oakland, California, has learned a lot growing up in the inner city. Oakland is home of the Black Panther Party, racial injustice and police brutality. Against all odds, she was determined to attend an HBCU, historically Black College and University, to join in the strategy of fighting back and cleaning up the Black community. She soon found that many people were either oblivous to the struggle, or felt there wasn't a struggle at all. That is when she found her voice. This is her contribution.
