About the Book
There are many gifts you can give to those you love. The greatest gifts are words. Lee encouraged that, she showed us that, she taught us that. For that we, her family, are thankful. Lee’s poetry was the expression of her experience – as a woman, a wife, a mother, a friend, a sister, an observer. Her poetry was a very intimate part of her life. She gave us her blessing to share her works with the world. We hope you enjoy her works as much as we do.
About the Author
Lee Olivier Cleghorn, 1929-2007. Lee grew up in Houston Texas and Broussard Louisiana with a large extended French family. She Saint Agnes Academy, Houston, graduating in 1948. She began to write poetry at an early age — around ten years old, and continued pursuing her love of poetry; pausing only to deliver, nurture and mould Martha, Randy, John, Suzanne, Allison and Tobin. She loved her God, Country, Family, Life and learning. She; was an intuitive observer of people and the world around her, a unique and beautiful trait that is revealed within these pages. In the realm of esteemed poets, she had few peers in crafting words to communicate deep thoughts.
It is with a loving tribute to Lee that I publish these pages --- the ones that she cherished and aspired to share with all. T. W. ‘Cleg' Cleghorn, surviving Husband.
