Porcia wrote My Pink Friend at the age of twenty three when she taught at Action Head Start pre-school in Detroit, Michigan. The joy of reading aloud to children, encompassed with a dramatic flair, inspired her to write this poetic love story. One night while asleep, a pink monster appeared in her dream. His brilliant colors, distinct facial features, and playful spirit awakened her. Spellbound and unable to go back to sleep, she felt compelled to write. As a young woman she was anxious to further her education. The idea to publish was set aside. Her book lay dormant for twenty eight years, destined; it seems for such a time as this. It is now time to reach the masses and allow My Pink Friend to embrace the hearts and minds of children as a masterpiece that finally arrived!
