As the kids munch on their chocolate, Holly hummingbird stops by. She tells them there's a kid in conflict, and who, what, where and why.
Holly explains, "Ronny's being disrespectful to the monitor at Langston's After School Program." She then continues, "So hurry to the
school, with your superhero pets, to help the young Ms. Hologram!"
When Holly says the name "Ronny", concern shows on the faces of the pack. Because everyone knows that Ronny D. is a very "tough nut to crack".

About the Book
Jonathan Ray and his Superhero Pack wait after school each day in their Pack Tree House for Holly the hummingbird to stop by and alert them of the latest kid villain’s character conflict that they need to solve. After hearing that third-grader Ronny D’Palm is being disrespectful to Ms. Hologram, the young monitor of Langston Elementary’s after-school program, the Superhero Pack of four kids and their four pets race off to offer their help. The pack shows Ronny that he can be a superhero too, by being a respectful person of character. Author Franny Vergo demonstrates to children, through her creative, rhyming story, that respect is the special power that we need in life.
About the Author
Author Franny Vergo retired in 2011 from thirty-six years of teaching fourth grade, to pursue her lifelong dream of being a published children’s author. During her long and fruitful career, Ms. Vergo wrote poems, raps, songs, and plays that she enthusiastically shared with her eager students. Ms. Vergo lives in Bartlett, Illinois, with her Doxie dog, Lacey, and continues to write and inspire children.
