About the Author
Andrew Sommerville Brock was born at his grandmother’s house in the town of Crieff in Perthshire, Scotland on the 29th August 1963.
The third son of James and the late Mary, he has three younger sisters and is an uncle to many nephews and nieces.
Educated in Crieff, he excelled in athletics and broke many school records; he was school cross-country and sports champion in successive years and in 1980 was county sports champion.
Coached by ‘Purry’ Mcgregor, he turned professional in middle-distance running aged seventeen and had a distinguished career on the Scottish Highland Games circuit. He ran fifth in the One Mile British Championships in 1988, a race won by the Australian Tony Overman whom he beat in an 800metres race the following day.
Andrew has travelled widely in Europe and Southeast Asia and developed his writing skills from his personal journals on these trips.
Loss and regret take a centre stage alongside all he considers beautiful and despite a tremendous sense of humour, it his strong Christian beliefs, which have helped him, overcome some of his most unhappy times.
A member of Equity he has featured in many television shows and movies and worked alongside many famous celebrities as an extra.
However, it is his writing of which he aspires to most and this book reflects his own unique skills of observations in narrative verse.
