About the Book

Meditative and imagistic, the poems in What She Said explore the possibilities of the things people say. The poems take you on an inner journey through the concepts of our culture, homelessness, shelter, the effects of isolation and the nature of community. They have a purity of line and an ear for the spoken word in small details. They outline the possibilities of communication and connection between people, each poem capturing one particular moment.

About the Author

Margaret Wesseling is a poet, teacher and translator who has lived in the United States, the Netherlands, the United States, and Greece. She studied English at Harvard University and medieval literature at the University of Groningen. She has two children. She talks to everyone, reads everything, and experiments with language.
