About the Book

An array of subjects hand picked by the author which discuss thoughts as perceived by that author. Subjects all would love to discuss but somehow never seem to. Political, social, historical, legal, constitutional, insurance editorial, religious. To put it simply, a book on common sense that lays it all out for your perusal. A book that says what you want to talk about but never do.

About the Author

Marty Gardner was born in 1942. Marty is a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served for four years. He comes from a home where the value of impression was more important than the quality of family. Through relations with his wife, Joan, and her family, he has learned the reverse. Marty has a brother whom he is extremely proud of. His struggle to put himself through college and dental school displayed courage and strength of will that deserve admiration. Marty has a wife and three children: a son from his first marriage and two daughters from his second marriage. He also has three wonderful grandchildren, one boy and two girls. Poetic justice perhaps! In 1965, Marty began his career in the insurance industry as an insurance consultant for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. After Marty qualified for the life and health license, the realization that this would be the career he had been seeking emerged. Marty was now in a position to help people and earn a living at the same time, all while maintaining an aura of professionalism. Since then, after moving to Florida and becoming independent, he completed courses and qualified for a license as a property and casualty insurance agent as well as qualifying to be a licensed adjuster. Caught somewhere in the middle of all this, in 1987, Marty earned a BBA degree. A native of Long Island New York, he has spent the last forty-two years in Florida. Marty likes to listen to people express themselves, and he writes down much of what he hears so that he can check out the facts or fictions as an afterthought. He is very much a patriot and loves this country. He has expressed a deep concern for the manufactured lies told on the Internet, spread from one person to another without verification. He has received literally hundreds of false e-mails attempting to create fear by stretching the truth or manufacturing complete falsehoods, manipulating ideas to create fear in the hearts of the people. One of those lies states that a great source of truth, a place where one can always go to verify a rumor, is biased or under the monetary control of a particular philanthropist referred to as a communist. Some people are so afraid of the truth they create false rumors. That source is snopes.com, and if you will go to snopes.com and bring up Snopes in the subject bar, they will even tell you about this rumor. Both the rumor and the information are unjustifiable. Should anyone be interested, Marty’s favorite book is None Dare Call It Treason by John A. Stormer. It is his fondest wish that everyone read this book, as well as the sequel, None Dare Call it Treason: The Next 25 Years. When my father-in-law gave the first book to me, he told me it was suppressed by the US government originally. I do not know that to be a fact, but I can see why that might be true. History is a funny thing; although most do not like studying it in high school, as one ages, one often wants to learn more about it. There is an old saying: “Those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to live it again.” No truer words have ever been spoken!
