About the Book

A collection of memories of good times spent at Clark Lake Michigan gathered during a 67 year period from 1943-2010.

About the Author

Since his first visit to Clark Lake at the age of six months, in 1943, Bill Leutz has spent portions of every summer at the lake. Coming from a family that has watched the lake change over the last 110 years, he has always had a love affair with this little corner of Michigan. As a result of that deep relationship with the lake, he originally started developing this collection of memories of the lake to celebrate the 100th anniversary, but as life has a way of redirecting schedules, completion of the project is ten years past his original goal. Graduating from the University of Toledo in 1965 with a degree in Chemical Engineering, Bill has been fortunate to be able to travel much of the globe. But even during the ten years of living in Norway, while working in North Sea Oil operations, he still found time to visit the lake every summer. His international work, from 1973 to 1987, ended when he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he now resides. In retirement, Bill spends much time as a volunteer docent at the [Thomas A.] Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa. He is also active in the Tulsa chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, and he is busy with his hobbies of photography, genealogy, and writing. He is currently rebuilding the old family cottage on Eagle Point Road for the use by the next, the fifth, generation of Leutz descendants as they continue to enjoy life on Clark Lake.
