Seth had received a call from Jay pleading with him to come back into the piracy game. He didn’t hesitate to agree. After all, since she had left him, what else could he do? He didn’t have to try and please her anymore. He could play pirate all he wanted. This time, he’d take risks like never before, even to the point of death. Let Wildcat take him and eat him alive! At least he would find peace from the endless memories of her. He couldn’t even say her name. Robert, Jake, Luke – everyone for that matter—was forbidden to say it. Seth felt sorry, most of all, for her parents. She had abandoned them as well. They barely kept in touch with him now, as it was just too painful for all of them. They had spent the first month with him on his yacht after she left, but they were only a reminder of her, and it got too difficult to even talk to them. They’d left with his promise that he would call if ever she tried to contact him. He wasn’t holding his breath, though. He didn’t see any reason why she would ever call him again. Luke looked over the horizon and took up the binoculars, searching the seas, looking for anything suspicious. “How do you think she does it?” Seth mistakenly thought he was talking about her. “She’s a cold-hearted bitch who doesn’t feel anything. She has to be because of the way she left us.” Luke dropped his binoculars to stare at Seth with sadness in his eyes. “I was talking about Wildcat.” “Oh, right. Sorry. What was the question?” “Damn!” Luke thought again for the hundredth time since Cass had walked out on Seth. He wondered if Seth would ever be the same.
