A corporal named Boon from old London Town, Spent the next two years driving her around! As the Germans rebuilt their city from ruin. Eva escorted her Englishman Boon! He treated her right, checked her oil everyday And through all that she’d seen, she was happy most days! She remembered the desert every time her crank turned The sand in her gears and how her cylinders burned. She remembered being bogged down in the mud With snow blowing by and bombs going “THUD”! The miles she’d endured had taken their toll Her engine leaked oil, one window wouldn’t roll. She had hated the war, but now it was done! Corporal Boon liked to drive her out in the sun! Then one cloudy day, her heart filled with fear Boon got the papers, He was being sent to the rear! She thought she’d be left like some many times before Her engine almost died as she sank to the floor, “Well old girl” Boon finally said “I’m being shipped home, for me it’s the end!” Her carburetor choked, she gave out a gasp “But don’t worry ol’ girl, the General gave me a pass!” “I’m taking you with me!” he said with a smile “So they’re loading you up, I’ll see you in awhile!”

About the Author
Finn J. "Stovepipe" Pette has been a writer and artist his entire life. His first adventures with art began at the ripe old age of two years old, when he drew a picture of Mickey Mouse. Since then he has travelled the world writing, drawing and learning all while searching for a way to make people realize we are all in this together. Born in Burbank California, Stovepipe grew up in the great plains of Cheyenne Wyoming where he became familiar with cowboy tales and the fundamental rule of never letting reality get in the way of a good story. He currently resides in the city of his birth with his wife, dogs, turtles and a good amount of old rusty Volkswagens.
