Mark and George went out got a couple horses saddled up and went to town. They wanted to be there on time, Judge Thacker wanted them there by eleven o'clock and they didn't want to keep him waiting.
In town Lance and Matt were helping Amber pack her things to be moved Larry was at the jail taking care of the prisoners, the two who were in the shootout were getting impatient.
"When are we going to see the judge," They ask?
"Friday," Larry said.
"What's taking so long?" Asked the one who drew first, whose name is Shelby.
"Better for you, if he rushes right through, he'll give you a longer sentence," Larry said.
"OH! So we wait patiently," Shelby said.
"Be best," Larry said.
"How long do you think he'll give us?" Ask the other prisoner, whose name is Floyd.
"Couple weeks," Larry said. "You endanger others," He explained.
“But I didn't draw my gun,” Floyd said.
“True but you would have, if George hadn't stopped, you,” Larry said.
“That's true,” Floyd said.
“That's better than what Mike and I are going to get,” Zeke said, “A rope.”
“If the judge was going to hang you and Mike he would have done it Wednesday afternoon,” Larry stated, continuing he said, “All your going to get is some time.”
“What!!! Mike shouted jumping up off his cot.
“I didn't stutter,” Larry said you and Zeke will just get some time.”
“That's not what I told my family in my letter,” Zeke said, “I told them all goodbye and that Mike and I would be hung.”
“How big is your family, You have lots of brothers,” Larry asked?
“Ten brothers, fifteen uncles, my Pa was killed by a horse, I don't know how many cousins I have, Zeke replied.
“Wow! Your grandparents were busy,” Mike said.
“Most of them our on Ma’s side,” Zeke said, “there were four boys and four girls on Pa's side.”
“I hope your letter doesn't bring a rescue squad to try to break you out of jail,” Larry said, “if you were to escape and you were recaptured. The judge would not be near some generous, if you get my meaning,” He asked.
