About the Author

I am a Special Education Teacher in NYC. I choose to become a teacher because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of children with special needs. I wanted children to know that they could work hard and attain their goals despite their disabilities. During my summer vacation I wrote these poems which were the culmination of many years of personal challenges and testing. I know these poems will encourage others.
