About the Book
When it comes to spoiling you dog, nothing beats great cuisine. Karin Samantha Horn Roseman and Monika S. Phillips have been cooking for their dogs for more than twenty years. Together they share their favorite pup recipes including stories that inspired the recipes. Named after one of Karin’s Great Danes, the cookbook includes recipes inspired and named after all of the family pets including: • Ernie’s Amazing Pumpkin: a quick and easy recipe that includes pure pumpkin that’s great for the tummy and easily digested. • Kingston’s Hidden Veggies: Cauliflower, sweet potato, green zucchini and yellow squash mixed in with cubed beef liver. Even if your pooch doesn’t want to eat healthy, he or she won’t be able to resist the smell of the liver that overpowers the veggies. • Abby’s Old Fashioned Steak and Potatoes: Cubed organic beef works best. Throw in some potatoes and bite-sized carrots and you have a healthy and hearty meal. More than a dozen recipes—all based on wholesome, organic, and thoughtful eating—will please the entire family. You’ll be delighted with Kingston’s Kitchen!
About the Author
Monika and I have been cooking for our families and dogs for well over 20 years. Our philosophy is based on wholesome, organic and thoughtful eating. This cookbook emanates from years of educating ourselves about food and nutrition, experimenting with what we learned and now sharing our experiences, along with some family humor. Monika is a resident of Worton, Maryland where she lives with her husband Sheldon, her three beloved Bassets (Lilly, Zuda and Abbey), three cats and five finches. Monika is an active member of Basset Rescue of Old Dominion aka BROOD. She is currently the biographer and adoption coordinator for Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania. Karin is a resident of Greenville, Delaware where she lives with her husband Ken, son Zach, four Great Danes (Kingston, Daisy, Ernie and Maisie), two horses (Adelaide and Katrina) and three cats. Karin is a graduate of Ursuline Academy and University of Maryland. She is the owner of Deer Valley Danes, LLC and a member of USDF, AWR, DPA, GDCA and NNJGDC. She loves the dressage ring with Adelaide and the conformation ring with the Danes. If in neither of those places, you can find her on the baseball field cheering on her son Zach!
