Deborah‘s stunned co-workers suddenly stepped in to help, they pulled her away from him. Deborah ran into the bathroom and locked the door. Tony ran behind her “I’ll be waiting in the car bitch, don’t make me come back in here” he yelled through the bathroom door. He walked out to the car and got in not saying a word. “Do you want me to call the police” Tina, her co-worker asked Deborah. “No please don’t call them that will only make things worse. I have to go home. He’ll calm down if I go home with him. I just need a moment to retain my sanity”. Deborah said crying. Deborah walked out of the bathroom, eye swollen and blood running from her nose. She walked to the car and got in the back seat. Bob drove off as he silently motioned his lips to say I’m sorry to Deborah. “I knew he was beating her, I’ve seen the bruises and missing patches of hair” stated Tina. “I’ve known all along; she trusted me not to tell anyone. I didn’t know what to do” said Josh another one of her co-workers whom Deborah had confided in. “I’m calling the police anyway what’s her address I can’t stand by and do nothing” Tina said as she dialed the telephone. “I’ll call Lillian her sister, she needs to know this” Josh said. Bob drove up to Tony and Deborah’s apartment and parked the car. Tony got out opened the back passenger door and grabbed Deborah’s hair dragging her out of the car. He continued to beat her in the face as he drugged her up the stairs. Deborah screamed and pleaded with him without any response. He kicked the back door open and slung her inside. Bob stood by the car in sheer terror afraid and unsure of what to do. Tony began to beat Deborah full force,

About the Book
Ties of a family: is a true story about events that occurred in the lives of one black family. There are no million dollar mansions, struggles for power or millionaires. They are an ordinary family that has been rooted and grounded in unconditional love and faith in God. This family Faced everyday issues that most families deal with; told through the eyes of one family member. I wrote this novel because I feel that there’s a message in the trails that this family has faced. I hope to reach out to someone who’s facing a similar trail and if nothing else; give them comfort in knowing that God is real. He hears, sees and knows all that we face. He will never give you more than you can bear nor leave you alone but we in our daily walk often turn away from him.
About the Author
She is an ordinary Woman who has a story to tell that gives insight into the life choices and the presence of God as one family struggled to reach their goals. At the age of twenty two she sat in a chair holding a gun to her head, so depressed about life that she wanted to end it. God spoke: “write it down”. She started writing thinking that he meant to write a book about her pain. She spent every available moment with a paper and pen. Every evening before bed she would read from start to her stopping point and the tears would overflow as her wounds were exposed. Two years later she had finished. Sent it out to a publisher and was offered a deal to rewrite it in the third person. She read it from start to finish to figure out her approach and realized that she could laugh at the things that once caused her so much pain. She decided that if her writing could help her maybe she could help others.
