About the Author

Joyce was born in a little country town in East Texas. My family was very poor but rich in spiritual and moral teachings. The pea story impacted my life and aided me in living in a world with such a diverse group of people. I have realized how important it is to invest in the lives of others just as Mama invested into my life. I must remember Mama’s pea talk and live in the manner in which I was taught. I believe.
