About the Book

“...Babe, your mother made me a little nervous.” she said with a straight face. I rubbed her arms, “Why? I thought everybody was happy. What’s wrong? I’m here. You can always talk to me. We said we would stay honest and open with each other a long time ago, right?” She nodded, “But she told me to tell you that you need to tell me everything. What was she talking about?” I exhaled as a million thoughts ran through my mind. Where do I start? Let me think… Derek Greene finally had the woman of his dreams, Ciara. Now all he has to do is pray that he’s strong enough to prove that she can move on from being “Damaged Goods,” all while letting her into his life and what ultimately lead him back to her. They say, “What don’t kill you, makes you stronger,” but how strong can one person’s heart be?

About the Author

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Lisa Butler has always had a passion for helping people, the arts, being creative and writing. In 2003, not long after she became a mother, she jumped head-first into the world of Full-Figured modeling. Lisa produced shows and even placed in the Miss Full-Figured Metropolitan competition. A few years later, she decided to hone in on another one of her gifts, exhortation. Lisa began doing motivational speaking for women’s groups, with areas of concentration like raising self-esteem and becoming a better woman. Through working as a Program Coordinator for a non-profit organization, she learned how to plan events and began doing so for the church she attends, The Pillar Worship Center. In 2011, Lisa self-published her first novel, Damaged Goods. Even though she has always written poetry and short stories, this was her greatest accomplishment as a writer. She engages readers by evoking emotions ranging from happiness to anger to joy.
