After dinner, Senor Pedro always took off his slippers and fell asleep in his favorite stuffed chair in front of the TV. Amador curled up with his chin resting on Senor Pedro’s feet, staring at Senor Pedro’s slippers. Amador, too, would fall asleep, but at the stroke of midnight, he would jump into Senor Pedro’s slippers. . . .and as if by magic, he sprouted a black handlebar mustache, donned a garland of red chili peppers, a festive serape and sombrero and whirred through the front door out into the dark night.
“AH-AH-AHOOOOO! CHILE’S COME TO PLAY! Yip! Yip! Yeah!” Amador howled and yipped to announce his presence.

About the Book
Amador is an obedient, mild-mannered, and beloved pup by day. At midnight, with the help of his master’s magic slippers, he transforms into Chile, a bold, overconfident braggart. Chile is the life of the parties he starts—or so he thinks. When Amador’s master changes his slippers, there is no magic, and Amador’s disguise is revealed. His true friends assure him that Chile was not all he made himself out to be and that they liked him for who he really was.
About the Author
Kelly Ann Guglietti lives with her husband, Philip, in San Antonio, Florida. She is an educator in the school district of Pasco County. Mrs. Guglietti is certified to teach grades K–6 and received her MA in elementary education from the University of South Florida–Tampa in 2004.
