Carla put her broom back into the closet and swam to the surface and poked her head out of the water. At first she didn't see the boat, but she still heard the children crying. Carla turned around in the water and there it was! A small canoe was tangled among the cypress trees and the vines at the edge of the river.

About the Author
Ms. Anders is a retired educator who worked as a classroom teacher, counselor, and administrator in Florida, Texas, and New Mexico. As a child, she loved to read, so it seemed natural for her to write a book for children. Her adventures, both on the land and underwater as a diving instructor, afforded her glimpses into the worlds of animals and nature. Creativity and fantasy help her think and write outside the box. She still loves to read and travel.
