The writings in the book of Genesis are mostly a compilation of many scenarios, which suggest that students who challenge these anthologies are in for a big surprise. It’s not a matter of getting it right, but also of bridging thought-factors so other generations can find their way through the scriptural maze.
If you are not familiar with the word Anthropomorphic, Anthropomorphism, or Anthropomorphic expression, as teachers of any source: Students, leaders, and especially within the ministry who represent the commendable knowledge of God, it is paramount that you familiarize yourself with these words. This is not a new doctrine but an old theory used by the scribes to express the mind of God. The Anthropomorphic approach to the Holy Scriptures has been around since God spake His first words to man. In-fact, almost the entire Bible is written in Anthropomorphic expressions: “All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them” (Matt 13:34).
Man, from the beginning, has used Anthropomorphic expressions in just about every phase of teaching there is, especially when communicating with the elementary world. All the Old Testament characters ratified their knowledge of God to the next generation through this method. If you are an elementary teacher, a Sunday school teacher, a pastor, a father or a mother, you have utilized its value in presenting your thoughts in this format.
Too many Bible students speed-read past so many mystical expressions that are waiting to be discovered, and thus, they take the Word of God at face value and never investigate below the surface of the expression.
This book is based on scriptural truths; however, I will be examining theories theologians have disagreed upon ever since there was a theologian. Theories are not scriptural truths; however, as in science when tried and proven, they do shine light upon subjects of interest. My primary theme is to explore, challenge, and analyze myths and teachings that were and are taught by modern theologians.
Within my studies, students will find that even the manner in which Goliath fell holds relevance to New Testament figures of speech: If he had fallen on his back the student would discover a complete different value within the story of David and Goliath.
The study of Anthropomorphic expressions has been in existence since the beginning of time. Those whom God selected as His holy scribes did their best...they wrote according to their experience and knowledge factors of their day...After God created man, He also had to create a language: a means for man to communicate with others of his kind. So He created a transcending language to match man’s intellect...God speaks in a Deity dialect that is unknown to man. This is why the Apostle Paul wrote: “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto man but unto God” (1 Cor 14:2). In reality, man has never had a language that was heavenly until the Day of Pentecost...The unknown tongues opened up a channel through which man can now speak directly to God in His dialect–in His language (1 Cor 14:2). When God speaks to man, of whatever ethnic he or she may be, He speaks to their heart, because the heart under-stands God’s universal language. The expression: God spake or God said, are human factors and do not apply or belong to God or angelic expressions…
All spirits are of the same in essence: God created all spirits, including man’s spirit, from His own Essence: “In him was life; and the life was the light of men”…That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world (John 1:4-9). It is the substance of man, (the flesh) which separates the two. “While the aspect of a form of God is called Divine Image, the aspect of function or ability is called Divine Character.” But neither will develop man into the Image of God until the Spirit and the Word agree together within man’s heart…
What then is God’s image and how do we acquire it? The Word of God is the artist and sculptor of His Image: The gospel transforms man into the image and likeness of God: His Word creates Divine qualities within man’s spirit and nature and character…
Not many Bible students will accept the thought that Adam was alive when God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, mostly because of tradition and/or their lack of knowing how to rightly divide the word of truth. (The structure of a sentence is very important: verbs are as grave markers; they help preserve the identity of what is entombed. They are as asterisks` within a sentence designed to attract the reader’s attention.)...The mystery we so easily overlook is that Adam was not a living soul; it took the breath of life to make him aware of God’s presence, after which, he became a living soul–alive to God...Example: “And the lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” (Gen 2:7). Spirits do not breath; they are not subject to oxygen. Breathed is a transitive verb and has given its power or meaning to the dominant verb, “became”, which suggest that Adam was alive but needed to become something more than what he was. A transitive verb cannot be used when someone is dead or unresponsive; thus, a transitive verb can only be applied to invigorate beyond the average pace–if you are dead then you are not responsive and cannot be invigorated…I see this today within churches whose members need their mouths clamped off so God can breath a new breath of life into them through their nose–I think you know what I mean…
