About the Author

Rev. Dr. Jon Wilson lives in Santa Barbara with his high school sweetheart and wife, Patty, and has been for 20 years Executive Director of The Turner Foundation, since 1958 ( Beyond Safe Housing) which provides low cost housing, for families, tutoring, music lessons, art projects, sports, and Bible studies, for youth and adults. He served in youth ministry with The Young Life organization, and at St. Andrews (Newport Beach), Hollywood, Salinas Presbyterian Churches and Lake Avenue Congregational Church. Jon also served for over 30 years as Head of Staff in California Presbyterian Churches at La Habra, Carmel, and Canoga Park. He debated several times on KNBC’S Checkpoint on such topics as Reincarnation, gave a regular early morning Devotional on LA’s KCAL channel 9 and had a Radio Talk Show for several years on three different stations. He has spoken to Baseball Chapels of both the Los Angeles Dodgers and Angels baseball teams and gave a keynote address at the Annual meeting of American Church Growth Society. His ministry as a turnaround pastor was featured in George Barna’s book Turnaround Churches. Dr. Wilson has served as a Founding Police and Fire Chaplain, and also on the Presbytery, Synod and The General Assembly Council of his Denomination giving the Nominating speech for a Moderator Candidate in Albuquerque. He enjoys playing Tennis, racquetball, and in Rotary and has served as President of of two different Clubs. His family is a priority. He loves his family which has three sons and six grandchildren.
