About the Book

Two sailors, two talented sailboats builders, Bradon and Bruce Walson, are forced to run a large boat construction site in the North of Haiti on behalf of a powerful Turk-islander drug dealer called Rogan Bango who has kidnapped their father. The two brothers will have to face Commissioner Robert Mabial, chief of the Northern Police Special Force Unit, in his fight against clandestine boat trips and drug trafficking in the Caribbean. Shipwrecks in the Caribbean is a story of hope for a population almost left alone, facing drought, hunger and unemployment. Their only dream is to take the sea risking their lives to reach Turk and Caicos Islands and the coast of Florida--”the promised land”-- for a better life.

About the Author

Jean-Pierre Leroy is an investigative journalist, painter and musician based in Maryland. Shipwrecks in the Caribbean is the fruit of his research on the boat people phenomenon in Northern Haiti. In this thriller, the author combines desperation, fear, ongoing suspense with humor. This novel is a source of hope for young people and an encouragement for Haitian officials to create work in coastal cities-an effective way to fight against clandestine trips. Jean-Pierre is also the author of the thriller Under The Rubble.
