It was late in the day at Macy’s Garden and the man was cutting the grass. He left the gate open while he was cutting the yard in the front of the house. Dimples and Twitchy were two cute little rabbits that were near the open gate and they looked into the beautiful garden and decided to go in and see what it was all about. They went in and over at the giant hosta plants, in the center of the garden, they saw Chicky the Chickadee and they asked her, “What is this beautiful place?” Chicky said, “This is Macy’s Garden and she takes really good care of anyone who wants to live here in the garden. She always has plenty of food and water and she loves her flowers and plants. Why don’t you come and live here with me in the garden?” Dimples and Twitchy talked it over and decided it was a wonderful idea to live in this beautiful place.

Edna Malpass has worked in the Human Services Department with families and children for over thirty years. She enjoys gardening, her Yorkie terriers, Angel and Tasha, and spending time on her patio watching nature. She has designed a beautiful garden in her back yard in Williamsburg, Virginia so that she can relax and enjoy nature. She wanted children to experience the joy she shares with nature and give them an opportunity to learn about the animals she likes to watch and hear every day.
