Alex and the Giant Stone

About the Book

Alex and the Giant Stone is an informational, nonfiction children’s book about an actual giant stone that is located in a historical small town in Colombia. Thousands of tourists from all around the world come to visit the stone each year to experience reaching the top of a rock that is over 650 feet tall, which gives you a 360-degree view of Colombia’s mountainous landscape.

About the Author

Maria Constanza Aguilar is passionate about children’s literature. She was born in Cali, Colombia, but moved to the United States as a young child with her parents and her siblings and grew up in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She is married and resides in Florida with her husband and their child, Alejandro. Her child Alejandro is Alex, the titular character, who serves as her inspiration and who has accompanied her in her travels.
