About the Author
Frances Eileen Black, MS, LPC, RPT-S (retired). A native of Atlanta, GA she spent her entire professional career of 34 years devoted to practice in the mental health field. During her 23 years as a university instructor many hours were spent counseling and mentoring students. This included a Tufts University Vet School publication in 1994 of research with depressed college students in an animal-assisted therapy project. For a number of years Eileen incorporated individual animal-assisted therapy in treatment for private coounseling clients. Eileen has observed and enjoyed tremendous healing and benefits of animal-assisted therapy for clients and friends of all ages. And she, herself, has enjoyed this most important healthy component of life since childhood.And, since retirement she and Beezus find adventures on a daily basis!
