In truth this book is a tribute and memoir to a man and boy who suffered greatly due to his undiagnosed learning disability; during the era when learning disabilities were of an unknown nature, and definitely not recognized. In finality, as a memorial and analysis, we do understand that learning disabilities were previously not understood, but we must now acknowledge how people with learning disabilities were treated, and the cruelty that was often suffered to those so-inflicted. Those individuals, often not supported by their own parents and family, learned to endure and survive alone against all odds. As they struggled through life their difficulties intensified. It caused them to become strong in other ways and areas, but their emotional pain and barriers solidified. Adaptation, on a daily basis, was crucial for survival against such adversity and despise. This story also lays bare some people and some associations that stand for and advocate evil. We piece together herewith life’s scattered fragments to tell us and remind us to consider and think about the total welfare and being of our neighbor, family member, friend or foe. As the story unravels, it somehow helps the writer to relieve some of the grief that others have caused, whether deliberate or simply due to ignorance and stupidity; or perhaps unknowingly without awareness or knowledge of their evil deeds and actions. Those responsible must or will face in the end their evil, their greed, their asinine logic, and general lack of empathy as they stand before their ‘Maker on Judgment Day’. In the end we question will certain factions of our society be able to recognize themselves, evaluate or re-evaluate their structures and past misgivings. We question, do these misgivings stem from a ‘small-town mentality’, or simply evil?’ We also still wonder and question how evil exists side-by-side with righteousness, and the obvious unbalance of the two spheres. The writer’s remorse will always live on, her disbelief and lack of understanding about those who deliberately hate and hurt; those with no conscience, or knowledge or care of how they harm, regardless as to whether they have appeared as friend or foe.

This is a true story. The names of all people, institutions and places have been changed or removed to protect the innocent, and as well the guilty. . The adventures and episodes in this book cover the partial lives of a few people travelling the curves and crevices on the roads that befall them, both lead characters having roots from dysfunctional beginnings. This story exposes the evil and vindictiveness of family members to one another, their despise, envy and greed, and basically their lack of empathy, or caring for one another. This ends up draining the energy and life force from the victim, and tragically haunting him or her on a daily basis for the rest of their lives.
