About the Book
I wrote this book as a way of expressing my thoughts and observations in everyday life. Some days life is like a poem with bittersweet events sometimes life is as simple as a spoken word. Words have a way healing and defining people I would like for my words to be enlightening and to be upliftings. My hope is when people reads my poems they will relate to these experiences as though the experience was their own.
About the Author
I was born on the island of Carriacou Grenada, West Indies to Mrs. Elizabeth Madeline Paul and Dowlyn J Paul. My mother moved to England when I was five months to joined my father, as I continued to live with my aunt Eliza Beauty John and my grandmother Anastasia Paul better known as (Ma). My grandmother was one of the most educated and influential person I have ever known growing up. She always taught me about having pride, principles, dignity, integrity and ambition. These words were constant in the values she instilled in our home. To this day, I can hear her words of wisdom echoing in my ears. At the age of 11, I moved to New York to live with my mother, Elizabeth Madaline Paul and my aunt Beauty. I grew up on the streets of Brooklyn, where I attended the local public schools. In high school, I developed a passion for writing poetry and musical lyrics, which became my hobby and allowed me to develop my inner thoughts reflecting on my personal experiences or things I felt that was unjust. Overall, it’s been a tremendous experience to be able to express myself in this manner and I hope to have a positive effect on someone reading my poetry. It’s been a blessing to write these verses and I hope I have inspired you the reader to follow your dreams.
