Christ had only two commands, both positive: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Matthew 27:37-40.

About the Author

As a member of a religious community, Ron Marcotte was ordained in 1963. With degrees from Loyola University, Chicago, he served in Colombia, South America, as a high school teacher for six years before receiving a formal dispensation in 1970 and returning to the laity as a devout Catholic and American.
