The Hot Ice Machine

"I wonder what you would think if I told you that you were the only man I have ever had?"

"I kind of felt that you were a little bit nervous."

"I'm glad that you know because I love you."

I turned my head to the window and said, "Let's don't talk about love at this time. I've got to many things on my mind."

"That s O.K. I didn't expect for you to offer to marry me. I just wanted you to know how I felt about you."

I sat there listening to the stereo and the rain falling on the roof. It always seems that when I think that I might have it all together, from out of nowhere the big stopper comes.

What do you do now, big daddy freight car? Tell the lady to take a walk? Maybe you want to get married. "Married?" I yelled as I sat up in the bed.

"Did you say married?" Anette said.

"No, Hell no, I didn't say anything. It's time for you to get you hot little body out of here."

"Let me stay with you tonight."

"Anette, go home."

"Please, Lord," I thought out loud, "Please, Lord, what lover?"

"Please, Lord, help me get your bottom out of here so I can think about you and me."

"If that is what you re going to do, I'll just give you plenty of room."

She got out of the bed and started to dress. She had here half-slip on and then leaned on the bed brushing herself against me. She kissed me on the neck below my ear, then whispered into my ear, "Sure you don't want me to stay?"

"Oh, what the Hell. I'll worry about it in the morning." I knew at that moment that I wasn't going to take the job.
