HALLOWEEN IN AFGANAHOUND
Miss Kitty returned to Afganahound in the middle of October. She was so excited to get back home. When she walked in the palace she summoned the king, the guards, Queen Chewe and Big Paws.
"I want a meeting in my rooms immediately," she told them. "I want to see everybody."
They all came running and they hugged her, for they were very happy to see her after her long journey away to Egypt.
"Oh my dear husband!" Miss Kitty said, "I have been away so long. That is the end of my voyages now. I am content to stay here and be a good Queen and grandmother."
"Oh, my dear," said the King. "I’m so happy to hear that."
"I have to settle down. I’m going to be a grandma," she said. "Queen Chewe, come here. When is our little darling going to be born?"
"With all the calculations, they say November, but I don’t know," replied Chewe, who had grown very big in her belly since the last time Miss Kitty had seen her. "I hope it’s soon!"
"Let’s start the celebration!" said Miss Kitty. "I’m so excited. I want to have a party. I want to tell the world about the new prince or princess that is coming to the kingdom!"
"Queen Kitty, Halloween is only two weeks away. Why don’t we do it all then?" Chewe suggested. "We’ll have the party, celebrate the birth and celebrate Halloween."
"Well......" said Miss Kitty.
"We can split it into two days," Chewe said. "On Friday night the children can come and trick or treat and have some fun and party here...-and on Saturday we’ll have a celebration for the adults. This will be great for the country’s morale and for our image. What do you say to that, Miss Kitty?"
"That’s a splendid idea! I knew you would come up with something brilliant, Queen Chewe. You are getting just like your stepmother and I appreciate that. You’ve got to use your brain," she said.

I am a 66 year old Grandma. I live in the country. One of my cats was named 'Miss Kitty.' She married King Chewah of Afganahound and got the title of Queen. But we still call her 'Miss Kitty.' To date I have written 24 'Miss Kitty' adventures. I have traveled around the world, and many of my books were written at historical sites. I heard many myths from natives in different lands and incorporated them into my books. You will read the stories through the eyes of 'Miss Kitty.' My Granddaughter Jessica illustrated Miss Kitty and other characters at the age of 7 years old. Other illustrations are made by Pat S. Goodrich. Thanks for her artistic talents.
I started writing 'Miss Kitty' adventures because there was so much violence in the children's programs I wanted parents and Grandparents to have an alternative for their children and Grandchildren.
I have had injuries to my hands and back so I put my stories on tape and had them transcribed and edited by Dar Mikula. Many thanks Dar.
