COLLEEN
You always behave as if you were a loser. I don’t understand that.
JEREMY
I’m just trying to be true to myself.
COLLEEN
Have you considered lying?
KEVIN
Betty is preparing for her interview at Oxygen. That’s all she can think of. She says she needs new air in her life. I told her she should spend the week-end in a wind tunnel.
COLLEEN
I thought the two of you broke up.
KEVIN
I can’t afford to break up with Betty right now. We start shooting in two weeks.

About the Book
God is the young CEO of Heaven On Earth.com and has plans to make salvation available online for everybody. Jeremy is a drifter whose ambition is to eat peanuts and design new suicide devices. Kevin is a successful TV producer who sacrifices everything for his career. Colleen is the owner of Heaven’s Hole, a quaint bar in downtown L.A. She is interested in both Jeremy and Kevin. If only Jeremy had a life, and Kevin a heart . . . Rafael and Gabriel are the two guardian angels of Jeremy and Kevin. When one evening they stop at Heaven’s Hole, Colleen sees this as an opportunity to achieve her goal. All she has to do, is switch both guardian angels . . . As Jeremy’s luck starts turning, Kevin is going through a life change that brings him closer to Colleen. But the delicate balance set by God is irremediably upset, and soon our two men start wandering off the path laid out for them. About the Author
Jeff Holmes was born in Northwestern Indiana. He was awarded a scholarship in broadcasting at Lincoln College, then continued his study at Purdue University. While attending Purdue, he wrote his first poetry collection and two novels, which will be published in 2001. He lives in Lafayette, Indiana. Getting Even with Heaven, co-written with Thierry Kauffmann, is his first play. Thierry Kauffmann was born in France. He came to Purdue University to pursue his graduate study. In 1997, he started working on several screenplays, as well as a poetry collection. He teaches physics at Purdue University and plays piano in coffee houses. He lives in Lafayette, Indiana. Getting Even with Heaven, co-written with Jeff Holmes, is his first play.
