About the Book
The Spirited Actor: Principles for a successful Audition
The Spirited Actor: Principles for a successful Audition will enforce the personal armor that actors need to sustain the constant rejection that occurs during the audition process. There is an exercise at the end of each chapter that delves into the "person" inside the actor. In the exercises the actor is prompted to approach them with sincerity and honesty. The truer the actor is about the exercise the more they will benefit. The theory is that the more you know yourself, the more you can become someone else.
The Spirited Actor: Principles for a successful Audition is an informative handbook that speaks from the voice of a former Casting Director with eleven years of experience in television, film, commercials and music videos. It is through the experiences that The Spirited Actor: Principles for a successful Audition can dispel some of the myths that circulates in the business. This book was designed to empower actors and reinforces their power, not just as an actor, but as a "creative being" with the abilities to develop their own careers. Actors are also encouraged to write and tap into others talents, such as directing.
The Spirited Actor: Principles for a successful Audition is a companion for actors to comfort them during the "down" times and a "daily reminder" of positive, uplifting experiences that can enlighten them. Being an actor is a real job! The Spirited Actor: Principles for a successful Audition understand the process and hopes that actors have.
