Stewardship. For many pastors and church leaders this aspect of ministry is intimidating. In an affluent society cultivating new commitment can be a puzzle. This book confronts the contemporary stewardship challenge with creative strategies to "put the puzzle together" and advance the congregation’s ministry and mission. A holistic stewardship ministry begins with vision, provides multiple opportunities for church members to turn dreams to reality, and nurtures and affirms increased commitment. Practical, tested ideas may be implemented in congregations of any size. The result: churches become alive with new possibilities in ministry and mission. David L. McDonald and Nancy E. Muth are Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) ministers and partners in ADVENT, Inc., a stewardship and funds development ministry dedicated to "developing generosity across generations." Each has served congregations as pastor, and as stewardship consultants have worked with hundreds of congregations, church governing bodies and religious institutions. McDonald is a graduate of Wabash College (B.A.), Yale University Divinity School (M.Div.) and McCormick Theological Seminary (D.Min.). He resides in Indianapolis. Muth is a graduate of Moravian College (B.A.), Princeton Theological Seminary (M.Div.), and McCormick Theological Seminary (D.Min.). She resides in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania.
