Hakkim had to trust his statistics. Phallus would jog the intown route for the next two days. Two assassins were stationed at different points of the route. One of them, Mussa, had volunteered for the assignment near the small park. Two days ago, Phallus had slowed down and actually bantered with a number of girls by the edge of the road. Yesterday, Mussa had hired four bimbos who were willing to join the crowd while wearing their hot pants and showing plenty of flesh. While Phallus jogged at the other side of the street, he did look across at the crowd, seen the seductive beauties and continued to look over his shoulder as he jogged by, but Mussa did not get a clear shot at his target. No, he wanted it to be a clean and deadly shot of only his target, cleanly picked off out of his protective cocoon.
Today had to be it! Mussa increased his bait by two more girls, positioned himself off slightly to the side and waited. The entourage was late, but finally he could see it. He scanned the group of joggers, trying to find the President, but had a hard time finding his man in the bobbing and weaving of the massed runners. Something was different. There were more runners than before and they ran almost shoulder-to-shoulder.
Then the group turned toward his side of the road. The crowd at the edge of the road became excited and began calling out to the President. He was confident Phallus, President Beouregard, was in heat for the beauties he seen days ago and scent for this kind of flesh would bring him close. Still, Mussa had no clear shot. All he would need is just one second of time. At this distance he would never miss. Patience, he said to himself, patience. About two hundred yards up the one street, Hakkim sat in a parked delivery truck. The truck was parked slightly crooked. Although Hakkim sat in the back, he could clearly see the scene through the open side window without being seen himself. Through the sight of his sharpshooter's telescope he could scan from the approaching group of joggers and over to Mussa. He was still looking for Phallus as well. Phallus had to be in the group coming up the street. Still no clear sight of the President. Hakkim sat there concentrating his focus, while his index finger was on the trigger of the powerful rifle. He had this rifle muzzled by a special silencer. Allah, just give me one clear shot! He silently prayed, but still no sighting of the President.
Just at the edge of the field of vision this rifle's scope allowed, he noticed unusual movement. The cluster of joggers was dense around the President, at least he presumed the President to be in the middle of it. Suddenly five joggers had broken from the pack and charged ahead. He could see one bimbo pointing toward Mussa, but Mussa failed to recognize the danger approaching him. Once more Hakkim looked for Phallus, just one chance, but the group of joggers had packed more solidly. From the hunt for Phallus, he turned his scoped rifle back to Mussa, waiting. In the next fraction of a second Mussa sensed the danger, but it was too late. The first joggers were reaching for him while Hakkim seen the look of surprise in Mussa's face through the center of the cross hair of his scope. He pulled the trigger, watching the bullet hole form on Mussa's forehead.
"Phallus, you escaped me this time, but we will still get you!" He whispered calmly, then put down his rifle, exited the van, crossed the sidewalk and entered the building. By the time he emerged from the back exit at the other street, he had stripped off and pocketed the latex gloves, entered a waiting taxi and was driven away.

About the Book
As a high officer in the Luftwaffe and its spymaster, he could not protect his family against the American bombing raids on Berlin. First, his loved ones suffered the horrible deaths under the rubble of his family mansion and then his Germany collapsed. With his beloved Prussia gone and with his hatred of America, it became easy for him to join the Soviets to fight the capitalist West. Espionage and Sabotage was his trade, but he watched with fascination the terrorism launched by Arab nationalists. The crisis builds when the Soviet and East Germany spymasters seek to prevent the collapse of their empire. They put it all on one last roll of the dice and back up Saddam Hussain in his Mid-East war, but in horror see it all to unravel. Defeated in battle, now only clandestine terror through the assassination of an American President could placate the terrorists. This battle between foreign terrorists and the American Presidency breaks into a bloody and murderous struggle during the term of President Bush's fictitious and corrupt successor President Beouregard; the best politician money can buy. Although that President escapes assassination, but his and his wife's corruption is exposed in the subsequent intrigue. He is forced to resign and is succeeded by an Independent running as the "Alternative to Government As Usual". His leadership aims to reconcile Nations feuding globally, he has the right answers for saving Social Security and provides true Tax Reform. Most importantly, he wants to expand the opportunity for all Americans to participate fully in the growing economy, an economy that leaves no one behind. While his election foreshadowed the dawning of new age for this country and he held out the olive branch to all Nations, it would not end the terrorist vendetta. The new President and his reform policies became the next target. He is drawn into the cataclysm facing the United States from afar. The clash of cultures ultimately may destroy the American political system or seal the fate of the Prussian terrorist and his totalitarian ambitions. While in this novel historical leaders are given dialog and are placed at fictitious events, it is done only to enhance the story line.
About the Author
The author was born in Germany prior to World War Two. He attended public School there, but came to North America shortly after the war. Subsequently he continued his education in Canada and in the United States. He holds an MBA in International Business and Economics from Rutgers University. His experience spans building heavy machinery, working as a scientist and spending years as a Business Executive. In these endeavors he recognized that reality often tops what fiction could create. Now he writes novels leaning on his vast experiences. Starting in his formative years, he was interested in politics and considered himself an active participant through his frequent recommendations to his favored politicians. Recognizing this mode of citizen's participation as an exercise in futility, he elected the alternative of combining political ideals with the incredible shenanigans pulled by politicians, mixed in some history, fomented a rational conflict and created a suspense story to entertain the reader.
